FAQ

Common Questions

How is barn storage better than outdoor storage?

Barn storage protects hay from rain, snow, and humidity, preventing mold and maintaining nutritional value year-round. Outdoor storage can lead to spoilage and inconsistent quality.

What's the difference between alfalfa and timothy hay?

Alfalfa is higher in protein and calcium, ideal for horses, dairy cattle, and young animals. Timothy is lower in protein and calcium, better suited for adult horses and small animals like rabbits.

Do you offer delivery or is it pickup only?

We offer both! Pickup is always available at our farm. Delivery is available within 50 miles for larger orders meeting minimum requirements. Contact us for delivery pricing and scheduling.

How much hay do I need for my animals?

It varies by animal type, size, and activity level. As a general guide, horses typically eat 1.5-2% of their body weight in hay daily. Contact us for personalized recommendations based on your specific needs.

When is fresh hay available?

We typically harvest hay in late spring through summer, depending on weather conditions. Thanks to our barn storage, we maintain quality inventory year-round, so you can get premium hay even in winter months.

What makes your locker beef different?

Our beef is raised right here on the ranch with care and attention to quality. It's processed locally and available as quarters, halves, or whole beef, custom-cut to your specifications.
